Seems like a good quality product.
Very good quality product. We also order the Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega. The ProMega 2000 was suggested by my wife’s doctor, whereas the Ultimate Omega was suggested by my doctor. So, we have ordered both. I have not had a blood test since starting to see if this is impacting my cholesterol or other lipids. My advice is to always check the shipper after you order to make sure it is Nordic Naturals. If it’s not, you should then check the shippers’ ratings to confirm they are legitimate.

VERY effective for cholesterol
I started taking these for dry eye about 5 months ago. Not sure if they’ve helped with that but there was a SIGNIFICANT increase in my HDL cholesterol levels & a SIGNIFICANT decrease in my triglycerides. Also slight decreases in VLDL & LDL cholesterol. This may be “TMI”, but I hope you can read the copy of my latest lab results I included with this review. (For reference, I’m a small 70-year-old woman.) I think it helped when I started by taking 1 capsule at night for the first week, then increasing it to 2 capsules. No stomach issues. I just sent some to my son who watches his diet closely but still struggles with his cholesterol.

Recommended by my opthalmologist
My eye doctor recommended this brand of fish oil specifically. These are easy to swallow, slightly lemon flavored capsules. The vitamin content is such that he recommended a single capsule per day. My doc says one of the reasons he recommends this brand is that the capsule wall is actually thinner than the average fish oil capsules out there. Since the wall of the capsule is thinner, it dissolves more easily, and that allows better absorption, and that increases the effectiveness. So you get the full nutritional value of the fish oil each day. Don’t let the slight lemon flavor throw you. It isn’t like fish with lemon. There’s very little taste at all.

Pricey, but worth it.
My wife takes these at the suggestion of our eye doctor to help keep her eyes moisturized when using her contacts. She likes them more than other fish oils specifically because they do not have a fishy flavor when she burps. They are lemon flavored and while that doesn’t make much of a difference when swallowing them, it makes a big difference when the fish burps inevitably happen. They have a compounding effect for eye moisture, so our optometrist told her to take them consistently for 90 days or so before she would notice a difference in her eyes. While they are quite a bit more expensive than what we used to buy, they have considerably more of the omega 3’s that are good for keeping your eyes wet if you suffer from dry eyes. The only downside (maybe this is just from buying them from Amazon and not a vitamin shop) is that occasionally there will be a fishy smell from the inside of the bottle, like one of the capsules burst and is leaking fish oil onto the others, even though we have never found any evidence of that. If you’re not sensitive to that sort of smell, you can wash them down with water or any other beverage easily enough.
