Excellent water bottles: sturdy, collapsible and great for travel or hiking!
I actually bought two of these water bottles for an international trip we were taking. I wanted something that was not only collapsible, I wanted it sturdy enough to stand on its own. Other water bottles I had purchased in the past were often so flimsy that not only could they not stand, they would collapse in my hand while trying to drink. These water bottles are not only sturdy, they can handle dishwashers and they collapse very nicely to load into your day pack or carry on luggage.I bought them in time for our trip, but did not give them the time it really took to deal with the smell and rubbery taste that will naturally occur with this type of material. While I was initially disappointed due to the taste, I contacted the vendor. They responded immediately with a few suggestions to get rid of it.For me, the things that REALLY worked for me was:1) Washing them in the dishwasher (if you don’t have a dishwasher, wash thoroughly with hot water)2) Soaking them overnight with baking soda and water3) Letting them AIR-DRY (suggested by the vendor). I not only let them air dry, i put them on the counter where they were exposed to direct sun! I let them sit for a few days. No more smell or aftertaste!I would say that the air drying was probably the icing on the cake to really make these water bottles work for me. My pro tip for you would be to get these with enough time to really “cure” them and eliminate the rubbery latex smell and taste. These bottles are now perfect!

Great Around Town Water Bottle
A great water bottle for travel especially with the optional round, zippered case. No leaking and a nice size for short trips and easily refillable as needed. This does not keep water cold though but will for awhile if you use a few ice cubes.

Didn’t Leak, But Doesn’t Fit
I bought 6 of these for a fam trip to Rome and Athens. They collapse well. They didn’t stink or taste funny. They didn’t leak. But, they are too wide to fit inside standard backpack mesh side pockets when expanded. They have a loop. It’s plastic. I feel it’s the weakest part of the bottle. None of ours broke though. I likely would not buy again.

It’s a cool idea but very impractical
I didn’t really get it for camping but rather for traveling. The cool idea is that it does get compact but realistically everything for placing a water bottle down is cylinder shaped. The awkward shape of the bottle makes it difficult to put down anywhere or bring along in anything like a bag when full with water, so carrying a reserve is not convenient at all. Not to mention, I have found that not all airports are created equal and do not always have water fountains to refill it especially now with Covid some fountains are even turned off so we don’t share germs. So consider if you’re using it for camping I guess it’s cool for packing condensed but even then I’d rather just have a jug full of water that fits in the side pocket of my backpack.
