This is a high dose vitamin D capsule – – 50 K units. Without a physician recommendation, it should not be taken more than once every two weeks. This is an excellent product when you use appropriately and the appropriate dose for the appropriate reasons. Excellent value. RMP/MD.

High dose supplements are effective but…
Please read if you are taking regularly… this is an effective supplement but be mindful about using it appropriately.Because of a long-term, fairly severe deficiency, my endocrinologist advised me to take 50,000 units of Vitamin D twice a month. Within a short period of time, my levels were too high and we cut back to one pill, once a month. Now I’m fine taking this dose once a month.Extremely high doses are not for daily supplementation and are dangerous. Vitamin D is stored in fat cells and not easily flushed from the body. It is toxic in high concentrations and interferes with other things like calcium absorption leading to other serious problems. Best practice is to consult a physician and get blood tests to know what is happening.The bottom line is don’t use high level supplements without knowing what you are doing. More isn’t better and it certainly isn’t harmless. Our bodies need to balance a lot of things to operate properly it’s never straightforward, you go too far with one thing, there are many potential consequences.Anyway, this particular brand is affordable and effective.
