More than basic smartwatch, and very capable.
Was looking for a decently priced smartwatch, as my old one started to have a failing battery. The Garmin Vivoactive 3 is what I was looking for in price, and shape. I’m not into the bar or square shaped watches. This does all the notifications from any and all apps from my Pixel Fold. Battery life isn’t the 10 days, but more than 4 is fine. It charges to 100% in less than an hour, so it’s ok. The face isn’t an amoled screen, but it does display what I want it to display. Besides, it doesn’t suck as much battery as one with an LCD screen anyways. I hope this last just as long, if not longer, than the 3 years with my old watch.

    Honestly great watch
You’re probably wondering why I put up a picture of my wrist. Let me explain.Picked this up earlier in the month since my company is doing a mental health awareness event. Part of which is also physical health. So needed a tracker.I’ve tried a health tracker in the past, with the Samsung Fit line. I’ve also tried to wear watches in the past and with both I’ve been hit with contact dermatitis (Samsung) due to the plastic used in the body of the watch, and nickle allergy responses for watches.I was aware this might be an issue going into the Garmin, but wanted to try it anyways.Lo and behold, I did react to the band which you can see in the images above. But if you notice, there’s a giant gap between the ends of the band.I didn’t react to the watch itself! I finally have a watch I can wear without reacting, and just need a replacement strap.Garmin, I don’t know what you did different from so many other groups, but thank you!Now for the watch itself, it’s decent. It has a little trouble on stairs, but so do I, so I can’t judge that too harshly. Tracking on my walks is fantastic, and I’ve already seen weight loss from the increase in walking and reduced calorie and carb intake from the dietary tracking it helps with.Watch life is a little shorter than I’d like but that kind of helped stave off the dermatitis for a longer than usual period, so happy little accident.Overall I’m stoked I decided to try this and if it ever dies I’ll consider a Garmin for my next tracker.

    Great for the $$$
My Garmin VA3 was a refurb and was skeptical but couldn’t pass it up for the price. It has been a great addition for me as I like to track my heart rate and still have a nice looking watch that functions well, this has NOT disappointed. It was an easy setup and works great with my Android phone. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice looking watch with fitness tracking capabilities.Side note: Average charge, every 3 days (good). Comfort, very good. Durability has been great as I am rough on my watches, no blemishes “yet”

    Good deal for the money
The battery isn’t the worst or best. There are hundreds of watch faces for this thing, found one I like so far(a month). Works great and am very impressed by the intuitive function. If you are looking between this and Fitbit, buy this. You just get more for your money. Update: 3.5 months in. Still love the watch, when it’s working correctly. Heart rate monitor has become very sketchy. The sleep monitor is ok at best. The app is good but there’s so much room to improve to catch up with Fitbit for sleep tracking and auto detection. Unless I just got the one watch that has glitches, I would consider a newer version. The golf function is definitely the best part of this watch for me. It’s exceptionally good. Update: Contacted seller about the issues I was having, they were fantastic. Contacted Garmin on seller’s advice about warranty. They were very helpful and took care of my issues. Extremely happy with the service all the way around.

Excellent watch for those looking for a smartwatch that doesn’t waste unnecessary features
Obligatory disclosure: I had to order a replacement unit. The first one did not connect well to any phone, and was losing the bluetooth pairing every minute.About the watch, it’s amazing. Fast, simple, and useful. The battery on these renewed units will last between 3 and 4 days with light use, far from the week advertised by Garmin but more than enough. The screen isn’t very pretty, but that’s the cost of having an “always on display” that doesn’t force you to charge the device every night. If a gorgeous, bright screen like a Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch is your thing, then you’re currently looking at the wrong watch. At least for me, I prefer it like this one.The GPS accuracy isn’t perfect, but it’s accurate to the street level you’re walking down. Maybe you get the wrong sidewalk, but at least for me it’s not a problem.Contactless payment is amazing (as long as your bank supports it).9/10 watch. If I needed another one I would buy another one, but I liked this one so much that my next one will probably be something from the Fenix line.

    Much better than expected!
After reading the reviews I was concerned about buy this watch, but I really could not be much happier. I wanted a cheap replacement to my Garmin Vivo Active HR since it is no longer sold, and this watch is its successor. The battery life lasts about 2-3 days which is not as long as my HR (it lasted about 6-7 days) this is usually with one GPS activity, all day heart rate monitoring, and sleep monitoring. Charging is amazing – I get the 2-3 day battery life and I charge the watch when I am in the shower, so I am not wearing it anyways. The watch feels much lighter than the HR and is a lot less clunky feeling/looking. The watch is very stylish. Hoping it lasts me as long as my HR did.

I’ve been really happy with this watch overall. The main use for me is activity tracking, call / text notification when I can’t get to my phone, and distances for golfing. Yardage numbers seem pretty accurate and no 3rd party app to install. Garmin has thousands of courses mapped. Battery life is about 4 days when not golfing, maybe 1.5 days with a round of golf. That is not bad compared to some watches, but much worse than the VivoActive HR that I had before that got 7 or more days to a charge. The VivoActive 3 does charge very fast (under an hour) and has customizable faces and lots of pre-loaded activity apps.Watch seems to be well built, light (likely all plastic), and a comfortable band. The display is not the best, and color quality is a little disappointing, but for my use its not an issue. For the refurb price on Amazon I just could not beat it and I’m very happy with the value for this watch.

The watch looked new – no scratches when I received it. But then the watch stopped working after a week – it would no longer connect to the Garmin Connect app

This type of screen is really great for working outside/under the sun. I would hate to have to look at my watch and it feels like my cellphone where you need the extra brightness yet still can’t see anything. Really enjoy the watch being “always on” too. Feels more like a normal watch where someone else can look at your watch and see the time if that makes sense?Features are good enough for most people. I don’t use all the exercise tracker and stuff but it’s great to keep track of all the data it gives for just normal life, like stress levels, number of steps, heart rate, etc. It’s a pretty watch too and the size is perfect I don’t have gigantic arms and wrist being only 5’7 it’s perfect for my size.

Came from Apple Watch 3 pleasantly surprised.I get 4 days on a battery. Not the 7 days as described but much better than the 1-day I got from Apple Watch. The exercise tracking and end of day profile is much better than Apple Watch. I like that the watch automatically tracks, for example I go for a short walk with my wife every night. It automatically recognizes that I am doing a cardio, tracks it and catalogues it, and has it ready in my daily report. I can even review the GPS of my track on maps.I like that I can shower with it or go for a swim (it also does swim tracking). It allows me to keep the watch on without having to take it off for a shower every day as I did the Apple Watch. It periodically drops connection with my iPhone but reconnects right away. And the screen is not anywhere near the clarity of the Apple Watch. But it’s a great Watch, and for the price (I paid $175), you can’t beat it. Apple could learn a few things.
