Swingin’ with the Amazon Basics Kettlebell (40 lb model)
I got this bell primarily to do swings and goblet squats, and for both it has been great. I did have only a 15 lb bell as my heaviest option but there was no challenge to that bell because I swing much heavier things on the farm. This one weighs the same as the sacks of animal feed I so often load, unload, and carry around on the farm. The handle is large and thick, if I had larger hands I might prefer one without the vinyl as my hands just touch it, and I could see that being less than optimal during a workout. The bottom is flat, and it sits upright, no lean. For the cost (and I got it on sale just before black Friday sales kicked off) it was an unbeatable value in the market at that time. It is very effective for the things I use it for, and likely will be the same for you. I feel that it will last me for years, if not forever. If you are considering jumping into the world of kettlebells, this is a very solid, value to get you started without dumping premium money into other options that can cost 4x as much or more. If Amazon had heavier options available, I would likely have gotten one of each for 40, 50, and 60 lbs assuming they did 10lb jumps. But this is their heavy option. So for something heavier I had to go elsewhere, but for up to 40s, these are great values for my gym. I may get lighter ones in these, and get my heavier ones where I can get the best deal on those.

Having big hands I like the dia of the handle. Nicely made. There are abnormalities in the casting but at half the price of others it’s a good weight. I got 40 pounds and 25 pounds.
