Seems sturdy, installation easy, use the safety support for added stability
Does the job. Easy to assemble and install, and I appreciate the silicone pads that come with it to protect the door behind the grip bars, because in the past I have had versions that did a number on the doorframe. Without the added safety catch that slides behind the doorframe, it feels a little unstable, mostly because my doorframes are narrow (0.5 inch or less). With the safety catch installed, feels solid. The pull bar being in multiple sections is something I don’t remember about previous ones I’ve had and that made me a bit hesitant about how strong this would be, but I haven’t had any issues so far.

The unit fits the door frame and is adjustable in 3 sizes for smaller or larger frames, although medium should work for almost everyone. I’m pushing 200lbs, and my frame is old, so it definitely made a little creaking sound, but if I go slow and controlled it holds my weight no problem.The grips are padded for comfort, the bars are sturdy and don’t bend, and given its functionality as a pull up bar, the workout value you get from it is solid. We only really need pushups, squats, deadlifts and pull-ups at the end of the day!

Years ago, I purchased a pull-up bar that was designed in this style, and although it worked really well for what I needed, there was definitely damage left both above the door frame, as well as the door frame itself because of the metal bar with the soft Styrofoam “protection“ that covered the bar from damaging anything.I purchased this bar to install at my office so I needed to make sure it definitely did not damage anything. It seems that they kept the previous design in mind because the places that used to have cheap foam protection have now been replaced by silicone bumpers. They also include a silicone pad with adhesion tape for each side of the door frame as well.Although I don’t have a ton of time using this yet, it seems that the build quality and the protection is going to keep everything from being damaged. It also seems that they have designed it in such a way that even though it is an extendable bar for wider door frames, it does not feel flimsy and it feels very secure and stable. It was very easy to put together and only took a few minutes using the instructions.Pull-ups feel solid once you have it in place and they also have the bonus of a secure bracket that installs behind the top of the door frame to make sure for any reason if it gets bumped that it’s not going to fall off the frame and hit you in the head.I would highly recommend this pull-up bar based on my experience with it so far, it was a great buy!

Arrived with missing bolt. Had to spend another $10 to buy the bolts to assemble item.

Really happy with this – bought an aluminium one previously which showed signs of strain straight away, (I weigh a fair amount but allegedly within the limit) and gave up entirely a short while after. Spent a little more on this one – completely different in construction and general solidity. So far so good – seems built to last. Don’t buy the cheapy ones unless you’re a featherweight – if it fails at the wrong time you could be in trouble. Recommended.

I expected little from this thing, but the price was right. The bar tends to have give when using it, but it has not altered the shape or created a bend in the bar. It’s sturdy. A hefty friend managed a dead hang and gave it a thorough test. The bar heaved but held firm without losing stability.The foam supports are good, but I didn’t want to risk damage of any sort to the door frame. So, I cut some foam from a pool noodle and placed it where the bar meets with the door frame. No damage.

Replaced an older similar design bar we had to throw out beacuse it was too narrow to fit a newer wider doorway.This one is similar design to the last one with important differences, thicker steel, better foam grips, way better door contact bumpers. Thoughtful extras such as clear silicone pads to go on the door so the black silicone round bits dont mark your door frame.The chinese makers done good. Bemusingly, the packaging has typical ‘Chingrish’ grammatical errors on the box & instructions, so that might give you a laugh. :)All in all, a great product.

Feels stronger than the one I’m replacing, but one of the silicone pads was missing.Don’t want to return the whole thing just to get a pad, but can’t find a way to contact the seller to send the pad?
